About Our Making Process
At Bhunes, each Aiyanar with Poorna & Pushkala idol is individually handcrafted using sacred Panchaloha (five-metal alloy) – a traditional blend of bronze, pittalai, velliyam, kanchu, kamsya, and other metals such as chembu and tamrapanchaka. This Chola art-style Sastha sculpture is sculpted using age-old techniques rooted in Tamil Nadu’s divine bronze casting heritage. The intricate details, classic posture, and antique finish are reflective of ancient South Indian temple sculptures, representing Shasta – the guardian deity or Grama Devata – with his divine consorts Poorna and Pushkala.

Deity Significance
Aiyanar, also known as Shasta, Ayyanar, Aiyanarappan, Sastha, Hariharaputra, Iyyanar Sami, and Dharma Shasta, is revered as the protector of villages and guardian of boundaries. Accompanied by his divine consorts Poorna and Pushkala, he symbolizes divine protection, prosperity, and balance. Worshipped widely across Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and South India, Aiyanar serves as a Kula Deivam (family deity) and Grama Devata (village god) in many traditions.
