About this piece
Description
At 8 inches (20 x 13 x 9 cm) and 1.8 kg, this handcrafted brass idol of Annapurna Devi is a large, bright golden murti for the centre of a pooja room or home temple. It depicts the Hindu goddess of food and nourishment, also worshipped as Annapurneshwari and Annapoorneshwari.

Frequently asked questions
Is an 8-inch brass Annapurna idol suitable as the main deity of a pooja room?
Yes. At 20 x 13 x 9 cm and 1.8 kg it has enough presence to be the central deity of a pooja room or home temple, while still fitting a standard mandir.
What is the difference between a brass and a bronze idol?
Brass is an alloy of copper and zinc with a bright golden colour that polishes to a high shine; bronze is copper-based with tin and other metals. This Annapurna Devi idol is brass (peetal).
How often should I polish this brass murti?
Brass darkens gradually, so a clean every few weeks with lemon, tamarind or Pitambari powder in warm water, followed by thorough drying, keeps it bright.
Is this idol a suitable gift for a restaurant or food business opening?
Yes. As the goddess of food, Annapurna Devi is a meaningful gift for restaurants, caterers and food businesses, as well as for housewarmings and weddings.
What is included in the package?
One brass Annapurna sculpture. No stand or accessories are included.
